Here are some of my favorite pins this week!
- I love to read the David books by David Shannon. It was always a go to book at the beginning of the year. This video shows how to draw David. How fun would that be? You could pair it with a writing assignment.
- Using these lights as a visual cue for how much reading time is left during silent reading is brilliant!!! Turn all lights on, then turn one off every five minutes to give students a visual cue on how much time they have left to read. I am currently reading "The Literacy Teacher's Playbook" and it states that research shows that children need to time to read on their own!!! DEAR time is important. :0)
- Inferencing can be tough sometimes. I think this video would be another fun way to teach it to your kiddos.
- Love the Daily 5! These notebooks would be a fabulous way to keep students organized.
- One of my most favorite things to teach is a fairy tale unit. If you need some fractured fairy tales to add to your unit. Here is a list with a summary of each.
Check back next week for more of my faves!
